Rylee's 2 mth Update~

My baby girl turned 2 months old today!! Geesh where did the last month go!?! Life as a 'party of four' has been going really well:) We have developed some sort of a routine (well as much as you can with a 2 mth old) and that has helped:) Rylee has been starting to sleep a little better...giving us at least one 4 or 5 hour stretch in the middle of the night so that has helped. But other then that it is usually every 2 or 3 hours still:( I am just waiting for that morning I wake up and go "Oh my gosh! Is she OK" because it has been such a long stretch that I woke up on my own!:) LOL! I have a feeling we are a ways from that though...

Anyways...she had her 2 month Dr. appointment today and her stats are: weight 10 lbs 9 oz (42%tile), height 23" (74% tile), and head 15.2" (46% tile). So perfectly average:)! She took her shots well and only cried for a second and then as soon as I started to nurse her she calmed down and then drifted off into a peaceful sleep:) I know every child is different and parents try not to compare their own children to one another, but I can't help but think how much 'smaller' she is then Brady...which I guess she should be she is a girl...but Brady was 14 lbs 8 oz and 24.5" for height at his 2 month appointment! So maybe she won't be quite as 'big' as her brother...but she might start plumping up;)

But overall life with two is easier then I thought it was going to be. I think I feel that way because I seriously mentally prepared myself when she was still in the womb and would always just think what it would be like 'If I were doing this with 2 kids how much harder it will be' attitude. So when she arrived it was like I already had 2 kids...if that makes any sense:) And it is easier in the fact that we have done the whole baby thing before so we aren't quite as neurotic as we were when Brady was born. Worrying about every little thing...and people who know me know I am a worrier!:) But it is harder with 2 in the fact that it takes twice as long to pack up and go anywhere, twice as long when we do the bedtime routine, and I imagine when she gets older it will be twice as long for mealtimes for clean up and all that. So I am sure it will get harder but right now I am feeling it isn't "that hard":)

Rylee's Likes/Dislikes at 2 months:
Loves to smile...she does smile A LOT more then her brother did..and he was a smiley guy!
Hates to be swaddled
Does NOT like Nuks...we have tried but she is not having it. Maybe she will be a self soother and find her thumb one of these days!:)
She really isn't a fan of tummy time
She is just a really relaxed baby and usually only cries or fusses when she is hungry.

Rylee's Smile~I LOVE!

So Rylee has been smiling for a few weeks now but just recently she has started to find her voice:) It is the cutest little voice and I can already tell she is going to be a lover just like her big brother! Who still loves to shower her with LOTS of kisses!!:)

Rylee June~ 1 month update

It's hard to believe but our baby girl turned 1 month old!! Honestly the first month of her life FLEW by!!! Since we do not have another Dr. appointment until her 2 month check up I can't tell you how much she has actually grown...all I know is she feels heavier and out grew her newborn diapers!:) She is still however in most newborn onesies:) Brady almost doubled his birth weight at his 2 month check up...but I am not so sure his sister will follow in his footsteps but we will see:)

For the most part she has been an easy baby:)! She really only cries if she is hungry, cold, tired or gassy...and usually once the need is met she stops:) She also has been nursing well and usually eats every 2-4 hours:) Although I do nurse I also make sure to pump and we feed her a bottle at least once a day. I nursed Brady pretty much 99% of the time and so when it came time for him to go to daycare it took him a good month before he would take a bottle...so needless to say I do not want to repeat that with her because that was just stressful!!! Her sleeping pattern has gotten much better to!:) It took her about 3 weeks to get her days and nights figured out but now she usually gets up around 2am and 5am to eat and then usually falls back alseep within 30 minutes so it hasn't been TO bad:) However, I am still waiting for the day when I get a solid 5 hours of sleep!! But until then....
