Rylee turns 1/2 year old!!!

(pic above: 6 month check up & not happy I just woke her up from her nap!)

Well our sweet baby girl turned 6 months old this month!! A half year old already!! That is just crazy! I feel like it was just the other day when I could feel her little feet kick inside of my belly! Time just goes way to fast and I am just trying to soak up every little thing I can about my kids. The way they laugh, their personalities, the sound of their cry, their voices, everything I can possibly store in my brain!!...which is the main reason I do this blog because I know one day my brain won't be so good at storing things! lol! Anyways Rylee weighed 15 lbs 15 oz (48% tile) and was 27.4" tall (94% tile), so she will probably be tall like her Daddy and her brother! She didn't like her shots and cried even when the nurse walked in the door:( But right after the nurse was done, I just scooped her up and nursed her and then she calmed down. I just hate when they cry like that...it really makes me feel sick with anxiety knowing how bad it hurts her:( But I am all about getting the vaccines so I know it must be done. Anyways Dr. O'Laughlin said she is perfectly healthy and right on track where she should be which is great to hear!! So at 6 months her are some of Rylee's likes/dislikes/routines...
* Loves to giggle and loves to have her brother play peek a boo with her
* Has tried rice cereal, oatmeal, squash, green beans, sweet potatoes, pears...and likes it all except her green beans. Not a big fan of those:(
* Can roll over from tummy to back and from back to tummy
* Likes to sleep on her side
* Can sit up by herself...but only for about 30 seconds and then she falls sideways:)
* Has NOT gotten her teeth yet but I swear they are coming
* Routine...well we try to feed her oatmeal and a fruit for breakfast, a veggie and fruit for lunch and oatmeal/veggie for dinner...or sometimes just a veggie. She usually eats a bottle an hour after her meals and still gets up about 1x a night to eat. It's getting better but like I said in a previous post...it's a crap shoot with her. Some nights are great and some nights are awful!!:(
* She loves to jump in her jumper and still isn't a big fan of tummy time and usually just rolls over when we do it.

Rylee starts eating "real" food!!

So our baby girl is taking her first steps (not literally) into becoming a big girl! She has started eating solids!! We started with rice cereal (on 1/16/12 so 5 1/2 months old) and she LOVED it! I could barely get the spoon to her mouth fast enough!! And we were also hoping that starting her on solids would help her sleep through the night...and some nights it seems it does and some nights it doesn't! Such a crap shoot with our little lady! Seems like when we think we have figured out a sleeping strategy she goes and changes on us!! Anyways, I have decided to make all her baby food because I am hoping that she will be less likely to be a picky eater like her big brother! I made some of Brady's baby food but nothing consistent and God knows getting him to eat a fruit or vegetable for us is a struggle:( So hopefully if Rylee gets the taste of "real, fresh food" she will hopefully (fingers crossed) like all kinds when she starts on table foods! So far I have made butternut squash, green beans, pears, sweet potatoes, peas, and bananas:) Her first vegetable was (1/22/12) squash and she LOVED that as well!! Hopefully this liking for foods continues!!:)

Beauty and the Beast~ First Movie

Today was a big day for our kids! They went to their first movie...'Beauty and The Beast'!! And I must say it was a success!!:) The movie couldn't have come out at a better time because Brady has been obsessed with the movie for a month! He LOVES the 'Beast' and you would think that he would be scary for a 2 year old but Brady thinks it is funny when he roars and gets mad! ha ha! Anyways....the thought of paying $20+ to go see a movie I have now seen about 100 times in my life made me want to vomit, but these are the types of things you do for your kids:) Brady got a little antsy during the movie and liked to walk the aisle (thankfully we were about 1 out of 4 families in the theatre) and Rylee was absolutely PERFECT! Didn't make a peep and I just nursed her and she took a nap!:) But it was a memorable day and I am looking forward to our next family movie day!!

Brady's First Concert!! Sesame Street Live~

So Kris and I bought Brady tickets to see Sesame Street Live for his birthday present (which was in November). I was a little worried because Brady was really in to Sesame Street months ago and I thought his "obsession" would have faded, but boy was I wrong! His favorite Sesame character is and has been 'The Count' and then probably next on the list is Elmo! He has two DVD's one of Count and one of Elmo that he loves to watch! He likes to pretend to sneeze and then counts "1 sneeze ha ha ha, 2 sneeze ha ha ha, etc" which is so cute! And he loves to sing along to the 'Elmo's World' song! Anyways...the concert started at 10:30 and was over by noon, which was perfect because most kids in the audience (including Brady) were getting antsy at the end. But there was lots of singing and dancing and Brady loved pretty much the whole show except one some of the characters came out into the audience...he was NOT liking that!:( I guess big, furry creatures can be scary to a 2 year old. Here are some of the pics of the day!!;)

Rylee's 5 months old~

So my baby girl turned 5 months old on Dec. 28th, 2011! (this blog entry is a little late:() She is getting bigger by the day and still not to many "first" to report as of yet....but I can tell you that she loves to laugh, is very vocal and has definitely found her voice, loves to watch her brother play and I can just tell she can't wait to join him in running around, has found her tongue and loves to stick it out like Gene Simmons (Lol!), can roll over sometimes although it is not very consistent and it is from tummy to back, she has still not found her sleeping "routine" as of yet:( Some nights she gives us a 8 hour stretch and some nights she is up every 3! It is SO hit and miss. We just started giving her a half breast milk/half formula bottle at night to see if that would help her sleep. First night she slept for 7.5 hours!!...next night it was only 4 hr stretch... but it does seem like it does help. I feel SO GUILTY and sad because I had to start her on formula before my goal of 6 months but I am just a little shy of making enough from pumping during the day at work so I was left with no choice:( Brady didn't have an ounce of formula until 7.5 months and I just couldn't do that for my little girl:( Oh well...I can't beat myself up over it. Overall my little lady is healthy (hasn't had more than a runny nose and that is AWESOME considering kids at daycare have had the flu, colds, etc)! But I am a firm believer in the chiropractor to help keep your immune system up! I bring Brady, Rylee, and myself to the chiropractor 1x week and have for a year (well I started with Rylee when she was 3 weeks old) and Brady hasn't had more then a runny nose and he was sick ALL THE TIME 3 months-14 months old and I haven't been sick either (well I guess I did have a stuffy nose/cough for a week)! Anyways...so getting side tracked...but Rylee is healthy, happy, and brings so much JOY and HAPPINESS to our lives and I couldn't imagine life without my little peanut!!
