Terrible 2's already?!

So Brady turned 15 months and with that comes a little bit more "attitude"...or should I say a lot more! He has started these tantrums that come on when the littlest things make him mad. He is very dramatic...I think he gets that from his father (wink, wink):)! Anyways....I think this is normal behavior for a 15 month old....or I am hoping so at least! Kris and I had a 'parent to parent conference' this week and really talked about our parenting and how we want to handle the discipline aspect of parenting and what or how we are going to respond to these tantrums....so we can be consistent and on the same page:) It's funny...I guess I never really thought about the discipline part...or at least thinking we wouldn't have to start it so early! I thought yeah when kids turn 2 and 3, but Brady is getting to the age when he does know what he 'should' and 'should not' be doing. I do think it's a little to early to start time outs because I don't think he would understand the consequence part of the discipline but at least we can try and get him to follow the rules and try and be a "well behaved" child;) I know this will be a journey that will be a tricky one and I am sure it will get trying at times but hey...no one said being a parent was easy:)

Update: at his 15 month appointment he weighed 26lbs on the dot and is still 33" long;) He pretty much stayed the same as his 12 month check up but the Dr. isn't to concerned because he is still in the 74% tile for weight and 94% for height:)

Baby Shaban #2 On The Way~

Well Kris and I had a little...or big SURPRISE this November...November 19th to be exact! I took a pregnancy test and it was positive!! "Holy Balls" was the words that came out of my mouth...and then Brady said "Balls":) It was pretty funny:) Long story short...we weren't "trying" to get pregnant and were pretty good about using measure to prevent it but apparently God had other plans for us:) We were going to start "trying" in February so it wasn't that much earlier then when we would have started trying, but it does throw a little spin on things;)! Brady and his brother or sister will be 21 months apart...so needless to say we will be busy:) But honestly it will be great and Kris and I are over the moon and are SO excited to meet this little person:)! My official due date is August 1st 2011...so he/she will have a summer birthday which will be nice....although I am NOT looking forward to being a large whale in the the hottest part of the summer....but I guess I am always cold now so it might be nice:) The pregnancy so far has been pretty easy...except week 8 on the dot I developed evening sickness and it was awful:( But by 9 1/2 weeks it was gone...don't know how some women deal with that all pregnancy! But besides being extremely tired things have been pretty good:) So on to getting our house ready for babe #2:)!

Brady 14 months~ Update

So this post is basically for my own self purpose to remind me of where Brady is in his life:) So it might be a bit boring so if you want to read it be prepared:)

Brady's LOVES
* He LOVES walking! He started walking around 13 months and within the last month has really started to get the hang of it and is perfecting his steps:) He also knows and LOVES to go up and down stairs....which he also started to do around 13 months and has gotten better at it this last month:)

*He LOVES to be read to:) His favorite books are the Biscuit books. They are about a dog and we read each book (set up 3) multiple times a day:) I would say between Kris and I we clock in about an hour of reading each day! I think he might be a book nerd:)

*His favorite toys are his rocking horse, his bear chair, his Farmer Tan fridge magnet toy and he LOVES his stuff animals...especially his laughing monkey:)

* He LOVES to play in Mom's hair drawer with the hair dryer and brush:) He likes to pretend to blow dry his hair and he loves to comb his hair....which I call "pretty baby" Kris hates that I say that and wishes I would use more "manly" words like "handsome baby" LOL!

* He loves to point to things and have us say what they are. His favorite is the fans in the house:)

* A new skill is that when we ask him to point to his nose, eyes, hair, ears, etc he can point to them:)

* He LOVES bath time! We have tons of these foam letters and it doesn't matter how many are in the tub he always grabs the W and tries to say it:) He also loves the number 2:)

Brady's DISLIKES
* Does not like vegetables....it is always a struggle to get him to eat them:( He has recently started to like/eat butternut squash and occasionally sweet potatoes...only if they are cut up like french fries.

* He is out of his "cottage cheese" phase! He use to eat it like a manic but now doesn't want anything to do with it!

Brady's Routine
* Gets up around 6:30ish....eats breakfast and has a sippy cup of whole milk or water
* Plays for awhile then eats lunch around Noon...no bottle but sippy cup.
*Plays for a bit after lunch and then goes down for a nap around 12:30-1:00...usually sleep for about 1-2 hours.
*Gets up from nap and plays some more and then eats dinner around 5ish...plays some more then bath, reading time, bottle (he still has one before bed but we are working on eliminating it), then bed around 7:30-8:30:) He likes to be laid on his tummy and can fall asleep at night and for his naps on his own....he might cry a bit but usually falls right asleep:)
*Sleeps for about 9-10 hours....unless he is teething then he might get up in the middle of the night.

Brady's Teeth Count
* Has his top 4 anterior teeth and his bottom 4. Has his lower right molar and the lower left molar is almost all the way in. His top two molars are on their way out to...and it looks like he is getting his canine teeth as well....Poor Baby:(
