Well as summer is winding down I guess I will try and do some kind of a wrap up for the entire summer! Three words some to my mind…BUSY, FUN, and HOT!!! It was such a busy summer that I have not written any blogs and am now trying to catch up…but there was just no time! Every weekend I felt like we had something or somewhere to be! We had lots of play dates with friends, went to the MOA a few times and went on rides, went to the Rice County Fair and went on more rides, went to Chicago, went to Star Lake, played outside on the deck, went to the park…the list goes on!! And the weather seemed like it was just HOT, hot , hot most days!! Which I guess looking back didn’t really stop us to much except some days when it was safe to stay in doors Anyways…I guess I will just say a few things about both my babes and what they were up to this summer!
My every growing toddler…Brady!!! He went through quite a few phases this summer. He officially became potty trained, loved the cartoon Calliou, went through a ‘Lady and the Tramp’ movie phase which then turned into ‘The Little Mermaid’…he loves King Triton and Ariel! Below is a pic of him pretending to be King Triton! lol!! He is still a picky eater but recently has started loving red grapes and now eats bananas! Still won’t touch a vegetable except corn for us He knows all his ABC’s, can count to 10 and knows almost all his colors. He likes to sleep with a soft blanket dog and a junky plastic penguin (that he won at a festival) ha ha! He can carry on a conversation, although some words he needs Mom or Dad to translate for others! He likes to blame stuff on his little sister and often says, “Not me! That’s Rylee!” ha ha! Another one of his favorites is, “I wasn’t doin’ that!” You just can’t help but laugh at him sometimes…although we try not to! He is still my ever so sweet boy and loves to give hugs and kisses and tells me often how much he loves me
It is something I could never get sick of hearing!
He does shower his sister with kisses and most of the time he is nice to her…but he does try to give her some cheap shots here and there! But to sum up Brady’s summer…he loved swimming in the pool/lakes this summer, loved blowing bubbles, and loved going on the carousel at the mall or any fair that had it! It is by far his favorite ride! Oh…and he also loves getting pony rides and got to go on 3 of them this summer!!
My sweet baby Ry Ry!! This was a busy summer for her as well! She started crawling in the spring and this summer has now started walking! She took her first steps Aug. 1st (a few days after she turned 1) and has been picking up the pace every since! She is still not a great sleeper but we are working on that!! She loves her bathes and loves her bottles….bottles are another habit we are trying to break:/ She has 7 teeth (1 molar) and gets super crabby when her teeth break through…but what kid doesn’t!? She loves cottage cheese, green beans, yogurt, and spaghetti with meat balls! I am praying she isn’t going to be as picky as Brady is about food…time will tell though! She hates wearing shoes and has spent most of her summer barefoot! She hates having a pony tail but will keep it in if I tell her enough times to “Leave it alone!” ha ha! She says, “dat” for what’s that. She also says, “Jesus,” “Mama,” “Kisses,” “Duck,” and “Dada.” Grandma is trying really hard for her to say her name! She loves swinging at the park and cries when you make her get off the swing. She can go up stairs but has a hard time coming down them. She likes to turn the light switches on and off and likes to pull plugs out of the wall She will put anything in her mouth…I like to call her Dyson, like the vacuum. She doesn't have a lovey or has never liked a pacifer and sleeps in her crib without any blankets or any stuffed animals. She is definitely a 1 year old you can NOT take your eyes off of!! But to sum up her summer she also loved swimming in the lakes/pools, loves seeing animals out and about (especially the horses at the fair), loves trying to climb on things and still loves to be held by her Mama
